Team Germany once again enjoying international success

The project Seads Solution by the Enactus team from the University of Münster has ranked among the top four teams worldwide at the global student competition for sustainable entrepreneurship. This marks the second consecutive year that Enactus Germany has placed a team in the global Top 4. The team was awarded USD 2,000 in prize money for this achievement.
In addition, the Münster-based project received the prestigious Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) Award, presented by Thai Beverage and endowed with USD 9,100.

Seads Solution uses leased robots to plant new seagrass meadows. This not only captures CO₂, but also enhances marine biodiversity and protects coastlines from erosion. The true innovation lies in the development of a second, modular AI-powered robot that harvests seagrass seeds. This enables the collection of large quantities of seeds for replanting. Additionally, the seeds can be sold as a sustainable superfood. A pilot project is launching in the municipality of Heikendorf, Schleswig-Holstein, allowing the region to directly benefit from the advantages of new seagrass meadows.

The team Evolve from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich also impressed at the competition. With a solution aimed at drastically reducing CO₂ emissions in animal feed production, they delivered a strong pitch in the Early-stage Competition.

Around 2,000 participants from 30 countries attended the event in Bangkok. In addition to the competition, the focus was on celebrating 50 years of Enactus and the 25th edition of the World Cup.
The new Enactus World Champion 2025 is the team from Saint Mary’s University in Canada.

At the accompanying Sustainability Expo, Southeast Asia’s largest sustainability fair, the Enactus network was honored with the SX Shaper Award – a recognition of Enactus’ global impact.
The SX Shaper Award is presented by the organizers of the Sustainability Expo to individuals, organizations, or authorities that implement concrete, sustainable solutions to address social and environmental challenges.
