Training Weekend 2024: Workshops, Socialising & Fun Activities
October 17, 2024
From 11 to 13 October, the Stuttgart Youth Hostel hosted the training weekend for the Enactus community. In four workshop series, we offered a variety of inspiring and practical sessions to help students develop their entrepreneurial and leadership skills as well as their projects.
Here are some of the highlights.
Friday: Insights into Start-up Ideas and Branding
Friday got off to a strong start with the Innovation & Operations workshop series. Alumnus Julian Hessel and Programme Manager Johannes Laux led the workshop 'How to generate good start-up ideas', which focused on the basics of idea generation. At the same time, Dominik Brökers kicked off the 'Team Culture & Marketing' series with a deep dive into 'Enacted Branding and External Presentation' - a workshop that showed the importance of consistent and authentic branding for the success of Enactus projects and startups.
Richard Böker's kick-off workshop on 'Team Infrastructure' also provided interesting insights into knowledge documentation and the use of IT tools, while Max Florenz's 'Leadership: Team and Project Management' workshop focused on the art of constructive feedback.
Saturday Morning: Design Thinking and Leadership
Saturday started early with a session on developing a minimum viable product (MVP) using design thinking. The focus was on how to quickly develop prototypes and get valid feedback by talking to target audiences. At the same time, other workshops were held on important topics such as 'Effective Recruiting' and 'Website Design and Target Audience'.
Saturday Afternoon: From Idea to Reality
The afternoon was dedicated to implementation. Julian Hessel and Johannes Laux continued their Innoguide series and showed the way from idea to impact start-up. Other focus areas included network management, leadership essentials and sustainable business models for impact projects.
A particular highlight was the workshop by Klaus Sommer and Denis Ukehaxaj, who taught participants the basics of successful leadership.
Sunday: Feedback and Project Pitches
On Sunday morning, six Enactus projects from Aachen, Cologne, Mannheim, Ingolstadt, Mainz and Braunschweig presented their current Enactus projects to the assembled group. The workshop lecturers and students present had the opportunity to give constructive feedback and support the presenting teams in their work.
A Weekend Full of Inspiration and Know-how
We hope that this weekend was a real enrichment for all the students who participated. The workshops provided not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical tools and techniques that will help to successfully implement Enactus projects and new business ideas. It was a great opportunity to network with other Enactus members and get new ideas for our work. We are looking forward to the next event!
